Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN...
From a pirate and her parrot!

Molly picked a pirate to dress as this year... Arg, Mateys!

So we made little Miss Nora, the pirates parrot. :)

We headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's neighborhood to Trick or Treat with our cousins. In our area, since Halloween is on a Sunday this year, everyone passes out candy on Saturday night instead.

And we carved pumpkins with our cousins, Dominic (the cow), and Maisy (Sleeping Beauty). We had such a fun Halloween party! Seriously, the kids were amazing and had SUCH a great night!

Halloween Printable Bags

Molly has to bring in a treat for the Fall Festival at preschool tomorrow, but since we got a big bag of candy on sale with a coupon, she didn't need to bring the whole bag into school.

So, I saw this great Halloween bag printable over at it is what it is, and just printed it out on a brown lunch bag. Seriously, SO EASY, and SO CUTE! I think it looks awesome, and is filled with little bags of skittles for Molly to pass out to her class tomorrow. Then I just hole punched two holes in the top and put a ribbon on to hold it closed.

Sign Post Project

I made this post to hang signs on months ago, but finally got a change to paint it this weekend. It was such a fun project, and I could use scrap wood I had in the shed. I used the great tutorial over at 9 o'clock Dance of Joy to put this together, she is super crafty!

I also made this fun Trick or Treat sign to hang up for Halloween. I am thinking I need a Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas sign, and a Welcome sign for it too. There are so many possibilities for this fun wood post.

Rocking Chair!

My Grandma Timmer gets these adorable rocking chairs for all of her Great Grandchildren, with there name and birthday on a plaque on the back. We love these chairs, they are such a special thing to have.

Here is Nora sitting in her new chair!

And here is Molly in hers when she first got it. She was so young. :)

Does your family have any traditions like this? What do you do when someone has a baby or gets baptized?

Candy Corn Mittens!

I love how these Candy Corn Mittens turned out. I think they are so adorable for this time of year, and am already thinking I need some red and white candy cane ones for winter. :)

The idea for these mittens came from T. Matthews Fine Art, they also have a great free printable pattern on how to make these. My mother-in-law made ours from her favorite mitten pattern (yup... my knitting talents end with a straight scarf, lol).

So, I had to have a pair for the baby!

And another pair for Mollycakes!

Oh, what the hey... a pair for myself too. :)

Spider Headband!

OK, are you ready for some serious cuteness...

I made this fun spider headband for Molly to wear to her Fall Festival at school next week. But, since Molly was in no mood to be nice today... or smile in a picture for that matter, Nora got to be the model. :) She loves the camera, and is just to stinkin' cute in that headband, I am thinking I may need to make another one for her!

The idea and tutorial on how to make these awesome headbands is from the blog My Modish Mood. Head over there and see how easy it is to make your own. The only things I changed were that I made my spider smaller, and I folded over the bottoms of the pipe cleaners so the ends weren't sharp, since it was going on a baby head. :)

Felt Pumpkins!

We saw this fun idea to make felt Jack-O-Lanterns over at Serving Pink Lemonade. Molly was so excited to play with it, I didn't even get a chance to put it on our felt board first, but she had just as much fun giving it different faces on the dining room floor.

I cut out a lot of different shapes for eyes, noses, and mouths. Molly even had me cut out 3 more pumpkin shapes so she could has a mommy, daddy, kid and baby pumpkin. So fun. :)

Super fun and easy craft!

Molly Update!

This past week I've been so nervous about Molly's appointment I haven't been doing anything I normally do. Now that it's done, me and the girls have been cooking and crafting like crazy and I have tons of fun things to share. :) And I am a week behind in reading all my friends blogs, I can't wait to sit and catch up. Thank you all for thinking of us this week.

Here is the update from the carepage. And, if you are new to my blog and this story, you can read about Molly's brain tumor and surgery here.

Today(Friday) Molly had an appointment with the Oncologist to go over the MRI from last week Thursday and for them to have a check up with her. This is always a long appointment, we first get checked in and then she has vitals, then a little later she has a physical, and then later she sees the doctor. Molly did great with all the waiting in between and stuff, they have a great toy/play room with child life specialists and paint, yup, paint is Molly's favorite, she was so happy!

The report was great. There was no change since July's MRI, which is fantastic! We were hoping that the mass would be gone this time, but now it looks like it won't be going away, so we will just hope and pray it continues to stay the same. As in July there is still something present in the posterior fossa region and the midline surgical tunnel that extends into the fourth ventricle is enlarged. There is also enhancement in the area the tumor was removed that is out of the ordinary, but as long as it doesn't grow or change consitencey they are just going to keep watching it. No change is good. :)

They did say during her physical that they were concerned about her eyes and think there might be some muscle damage. We do have an appointment with a new pediatric ophthalmologist next Thursday, so we are praying things go good then, and they can give us some answers on fixing her eyes.

Else, in 3 months she will have another MRI with her Neurosurgeon, and then another one in 6 months with the Oncologist again. Hopefully we make it through this next year with things staying the same, and can feel better about everything. We are constantly reminded watching our Molly how lucky we are things turned out so good, I can't believe where we are today, only 6 months after all of this started. We truly have been very blessed. Praying today for all of the sick kids we spent time with at the Hem/Onc clinic and there families.

Molly's MRI Tomorrow and Some Pictures

Tomorrow morning we are headed to the Children's Hospital for Molly's MRI. It has been 6 months since her brain surgery (click HERE for the story). Sometimes it feels like it all just happened, and sometimes it feels like it's been years. Having MRI's every 3 months is a quick way to make me nervous.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, but I think most mother's would be. Every time Molly has an MRI she is sedated, which makes me nervous too. This time we won't get to meet with the doctor to go over the MRI until next week Friday when we see her oncologist. So, I am getting ready for a long week of waiting and worrying.

She is having a lot of issues that remind me of before we found the tumor, so I am very worried what they will find. But I am hoping and praying for the best, and am unbelievably thankful and blessed to have beaten so many odds and to have Molly home and doing great. :)

And that we have so many wonderful family, friends, and people praying for her as well!

Halloween Paper Dolls 2010

At The Idea Room I saw this fun link to make Halloween Paper Dolls from Gwenny Penny! They are so adorable, so I printed them out right away. Instead of using them as paper dolls, I laminated the clothes and put magnet on the back so she could dress up the boy and girl on the refrigerator. Head over HERE to get the link to print the PDF.

Molly loves them, the girl is always dressed as a princess. :)

Last year for Halloween we made these paper dolls.
Head here to see these ones. :)

ENJOY!

Nailpolish Washer Necklace!

I made up a bunch of these really cool nail polish washers I saw a tutorial for at A Little Tipsy. They were a great way to use up some of the old nail polish I had lying around. I just change the washer on my necklace for whatever outfit I am wearing. :) So easy, fun, inexpensive and cute! (thanks to my niece Heidi for modeling it!)

Ghost Hot Chocolate!

This week we made this fun hot chocolate with a peeps ghost in it. I saw the idea in the Taste of Home Halloween magazine while waiting in line at the grocery store. Seriously, it was the LONGEST line ever. :) They had a hot chocolate recipe, but I just used my favorite hot chocolate, and added a Ghost Peep to the top. Molly loved it, especially after it melted, the only thing left in her cup was the eyes and mouth.
